A bank employee of Madhya Pradesh Gramin Bank’s Kariyawati branch was reportedly assaulted by two brothers who are loan defaulters.The incident occurred in Dabra, where a case has been registered on the complaint of bank employee Suresh Kumar Sharma, a resident of Teacher’s Colony; Dainik Bhaskar Reported.
According to the police report, Sharma had visited the area in connection with recovery of pending loan dues. During the interaction, the two accused became agitated and allegedly began arguing with him. The situation escalated when the accused physically assaulted Sharma and also threatened to kill him if he pursued the recovery further. The complainant immediately informed the authorities about the incident.
On receiving the complaint, the police registered a case of assault and criminal intimidation against the two brothers. The investigation team has begun recording statements and collecting evidence to verify the sequence of events. Police officials stated that further action will be taken based on the findings of the inquiry.
The incident has brought attention to the challenges faced by bank employees, particularly those involved in loan recovery in rural and semi-urban areas. Local police officials handling the case noted that such cases often arise when borrowers face pressure regarding repayment. However, law enforcement maintains that any form of violence or threat against public servants performing their official duties is a punishable offence.
At present, the accused persons are under police scrutiny, and efforts are ongoing to trace and detain them. The bank authorities have been informed, and further internal communication regarding employee safety measures may be considered based on the outcome of the investigation. The case continues to be under review as police proceed with legal processes.
