Emergency Leave Provision
The circular mentioned that in case of genuine emergencies, employees must obtain prior permission from the Regional Office before availing leave.
The leave restriction by UPGB underscores the institution’s emphasis on performance and continuity during half-yearly closing. At the same time, it has drawn attention to the rising pressure faced by employees, raising questions about balancing business goals with staff well-being.
Concerns Raised
An employee told Kanal that “The Deputy Regional Manager had issued a directive restricting staff from taking leave without prior permission from the Regional Office.”
He further added,“This is an example of unnecessary pressure placed on staff to meet the bank’s targets.”
