A remarkable moment of unity and organisational maturity unfolded on 28 October 2025 in Moradabad, where retired employees from Baroda UP Bank, Aryavart Bank, and Prathama UP Gramin Bank came together for the first convention of the newly formed Uttar Pradesh Gramin Bank (UPGB) Retired Employees Committee. What made the event special was not only the scale of participation, but also the spirit of harmony that guided every decision taken during the programme.
Delegates from different districts across Uttar Pradesh attended the convention, creating an atmosphere that celebrated the state’s famous Ganga Jamuni Tehzeeb. The arrangements, hospitality, and coordination reflected discipline, warmth, and mutual respect. The event concluded smoothly, without conflict or disagreement, which itself speaks volumes about the maturity of the participating members.
One of the highlights was the unanimous appointment of the new executive committee for the next one year. As per insiders the peaceful and respectful process demonstrated that service to the organisation is more valuable than holding high positions. The delegates collectively proved that leadership is meaningful only when it is rooted in dedication, humility, and cooperation.
The event also showcased the inter organisation respect and balance between the three merging units. Even though Baroda UP Bank had a larger member base, equal importance was given to representatives of Aryavart Bank and Prathama Bank. This thoughtful inclusiveness ensured that no group felt overshadowed, setting a healthy precedent for the future.
The success of the programme was made possible by the sincere involvement of senior members and organisers who guided the process with patience and clarity. Their vision ensured that the newly formed committee stands not just as a formal structure, but as a symbol of unity, trust, and collective identity.
Today, there are around 18,000 retired bank employees in Uttar Pradesh, while the membership count stands close to 7,000. The new committee has an important responsibility ahead to expand membership and work consistently for the welfare of retired employees, addressing their concerns with empathy and seriousness.
The convention in Moradabad has set a shining example for bank retirees across the country. It has shown that when affection replaces ego, and cooperation replaces competition, even large transitions can be handled gracefully.
