AIBEA Central Committee Meeting Reviews Banking Sector Developments and Action Plan

The All India Bank Employees’ Association conducted its Central Committee Meeting in Jaipur on 5th and 6th November 2025. The meeting reviewed banking sector developments. Resolutions were adopted on organisational matters and upcoming actions.

The All India Bank Employees’ Association (AIBEA) held its Central Committee Meeting in Jaipur, Rajasthan, on 5–6 November 2025. Office bearers and representatives from various state federations attended the session. The meeting was presided over by senior office bearers. The Rajasthan Pradesh Bank Employees Union welcomed the participants and shared its organisational contributions.

Discussions on Banking Sector Developments
The committee reviewed several recent developments related to the banking sector. Discussions were held on topics including privatisation of Public Sector Banks (PSBs), proposals to increase Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), and the concept of mergers and consolidation. Members took note of media reports on increased FDI limits and shared observations related to possible implications within the banking system.

Foreign Investments and Structural Changes
The meeting also discussed recent instances where private and cooperative banks experienced changes in ownership structure, including foreign investments or acquisition by investors. The committee observed that such developments have increased in recent months and discussed their potential impact on banking operations.

Resolutions Adopted by the Committee
Multiple resolutions were adopted during the meeting. These included support for employees of IDBI Bank regarding ongoing efforts related to ownership matters, support to private bank unions participating in their charter-of-demands agitation, and participation in the proposed Dharna in Delhi on December 10,2025.

Staffing and Recruitment Requirements
Discussions were held on recruitment and manpower concerns. The committee reviewed details from discussions with Indian Banks' Association (IBA) and adopted a resolution demanding adequate recruitment at branch level to reduce pressure on staff and improve customer service. The committee also reviewed conciliation meetings and ongoing strike-related discussions under the United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU).

Organisational Strengthening and Future Plans
AIBEA announced that its next Conference will be held in Bangalore from 19th to 22nd April 2026. The committee stressed the importance of strengthening state federations and unions. The need for training new employees and using social media for communication was also highlighted.

The Central Committee Meeting in Jaipur focused on reviewing recent banking sector developments, organisational matters, and manpower requirements. The meeting concluded with resolutions and action plans for future engagements.
