AIRRBEA Contributes to Wayanad Relief Efforts by Constructing 10 Homes

This donation comes in response to an appeal from the Kerala Gramin Bank Officers’ Union and the Kerala Gramin Bank Employees’ Union, who have been leading efforts to provide rehabilitation by constructing 10 homes for the victims of the landslide.

In a significant display of solidarity and humanitarian commitment, state units of  All India Regional Rural Bank Employees Association (AIRRBEA) have donated towards relief efforts for the victims of the recent landslide in Kerala’s Wayanad district. Rajasthan Marudhara Gramin Bank Officers Union, Rajasthan Marudhara Gramin Bank Karmchari Union and Mizoram Rural Bank Officers Association contributed Rs. 1 lakh whereas Tamil Nadu Grama Bank Officers Association donated Rs. 1 lakh to the cause. Both unions are affiliated with the AIRRBEA.

In a letter dated August 23, 2024, addressed to the General Secretaries of the Kerala Gramin Bank Officers’ Union and the Kerala Gramin Bank Employees’ Union, the Rajasthan units emphasised their dedication to this noble cause. The letter stated, “On the appeal of AIRRBEA, our members participated in this noble work under the humanitarian approach, and contributed as per their wish. As a result, we are handing over to you Rs. 1,00,000 for this noble cause to help out the needy people.”

A member of Rajasthan Marudhara Gramin Bank Officers Union told Kanal, “The funds donated will be used to support those who have been hit hardest by the landslide, helping to rebuild lives and provide essential services to the affected communities. We hope that these efforts will inspire other units and organisations to contribute to the relief work.”

He further added, “The AIRRBEA units in Rajasthan, recognizing the scale of the disaster, mobilised their members to contribute to the relief efforts. Their contributions reflect a commitment to not only serve their respective banking communities but also to extend support to those affected by natural calamities across the country.” 

This donation comes in response to an appeal from the Kerala Gramin Bank Officers’ Union and the Kerala Gramin Bank Employees’ Union, who have been leading efforts to provide rehabilitation by constructing 10 homes for the victims of the landslide. The landslide, which caused significant destruction in the region, has left many families displaced and in desperate need of assistance.
