The Rajasthan units of the All India Regional Rural Bank Employees Association (AIRRBEA) have announced their first joint general body meeting following the recent amalgamation of Baroda Rajasthan Kshetriya Gramin Bank and Rajasthan Marudhara Gramin Bank into the newly formed Rajasthan Gramin Bank. This amalgamation, implemented under the Government of India’s “One State One RRB” policy, marks a significant restructuring in the state’s rural banking landscape.

Union representatives emphasized that the core objective of rural banks remains unchanged: to provide affordable credit and banking facilities to small and marginal farmers, agricultural laborers, and rural artisans.

“This will be the first general body meeting held by any RRB in India following the implementation of the One State One RRB policy,” said Deepak Sharma, General Secretary of the Rajasthan Marudhara Gramin Officers’ Association, underscoring the importance of the gathering.

General Body Meeting Scheduled for May 25 in Jodhpur

To strengthen organizational unity post-amalgamation, the unions have scheduled a joint General Body Meeting on May 25, 2025, at Maheshwari Bhavan, Ratanada Road, Jodhpur. The meeting will bring together the combined workforce under one platform to discuss internal governance, elect new office bearers, and chart the course ahead under the Trade Union Act, 1926.

National leaders of AIRRBEA, NFRRBO, and NFRRBE including Shagun Shukla, Chain Singh Rawat, and Samiran Medhi are expected to attend and address the gathering.

Commitment to Fairness in Amalgamation Process

Union leaders Dashrath Singh Rathore, Deepak Sharma, Manoj Kumar Meena, and Naveen Kumar reaffirmed that the bank management has assured full transparency in the amalgamation process. “All necessary steps will be taken to protect staff interests and ensure there is no discrimination in the transition,” the statement noted.

The unions have called upon all members to participate actively in the upcoming general meeting to reinforce unity and prepare for the next phase of banking operations in Rajasthan’s rural economy.
