The All India Overseas Bank Employees’ Union (AIOBEU), affiliated with NCBE, has issued a formal circular announcing a Two-day All India Strike on December 1 and 2, 2025. The union states that the strike is a collective response to long-pending employee concerns, recruitment delays, and policy-related issues affecting award staff across branches.

Key Demands Raised by the Union
The circular highlights multiple demands focused on staffing, welfare measures, and fair policy implementation. These include:

  • Expedite compassionate appointments.
  • Initiation of recruitment for Customer Service Associates, Office Assistants, and Armed Guards.
  • Release of staff welfare benefits.
  • Implementation of Special Customer Service Associate settlement.
  • Uniform and fair transfer policy for workmen.
  • Payment of bonus to temporary/outsourced employees.

Issues Opposed by the Union
Apart from demands, the union also opposes several ongoing practices, stating they negatively affect staff morale and working conditions. These include:

  • Skewed Payment of PLI for FY 2023–24.
  • Introduction of QR-based feedback systems for award staff.
  • Outsourcing of core banking functions.
  • Harassment and unfair salary deductions for staff.
  • Unilateral amendments to transfer policy,
