The All India Bank of Baroda Officers’ Union (AIBOBOU) has escalated its concerns regarding alleged misconduct and abusive practices by senior officials in the bank’s Burdwan Region. The union submitted a detailed complaint letter dated 22 September 2025 to the General Manager–HRM of Bank of Baroda (BoB), citing toxic work culture, excessive reporting demands, and inappropriate language.

Serious Allegations of Misconduct
AIBOBOU’s letter highlights repeated incidents of misbehaviour and abuse of authority allegedly by the Regional Head and Deputy Regional Head of the Burdwan Region. According to the complaint, remarks such as “Doob maro,” “Suicide kar lo,” and other unparliamentary words were directed at staff. The letter states that such conduct warrants immediate investigation and disciplinary action.

Leadership Model Under Review
In its letter, AIBOBOU attributed part of the problem to the “HEADS” model introduced in previous years. The union argued that this model has shifted executives’ mindset from management to authority, resulting in autocratic decision-making, micromanagement, and employee stress.

Union’s Recommendations to Management
The letter calls for prompt investigation, strict disciplinary action if allegations are confirmed, and a reassessment of the leadership model to ensure ethical, team-oriented management practices. It emphasised that responsible leadership is essential for operational excellence and employee well-being.

AIBOBOU’s Statement
Speaking to Kanal, K. Sriniwasrao, General Secretary of AIBOBOU, said, “If management does not take any action regarding this, then we will file a case. We will escalate the matter to DFS and other higher places, and if nothing happens then we have to file a case.”

AIBOBOU has positioned its letter as a constructive effort to safeguard officers’ rights, restore confidence in management, and improve working conditions. The union is urging Bank of Baroda’s leadership to act swiftly and decisively to address the reported issues and prevent further deterioration of workplace culture.
