Mumbai’s Economic Offences Wing (EOW) has summoned three senior executives of IndusInd Bank, including its managing director and CEO, Sumant Kathpalia, in connection with suspected accounting irregularities worth nearly ₹1,960 crore;Times Of India reported.

The bank’s executive director and deputy CEO, Arun Khurana, and chief financial officer, Govind Jain, have also been called for questioning. The summons require them to appear before investigators between 22 and 24 September.

The case began after the bank’s own management reported possible misaccounting of derivative trades, which allegedly led to large losses. Investigators are now looking into whether these trades were recorded incorrectly, resulting in financial discrepancies.

So far, the EOW has questioned several bank employees, but no formal case (FIR) has been registered. Officials said they are still assessing whether the issue qualifies as a cognisable offence before moving forward.
