The Karnataka Vikas Grameena Bank Officers’ Federation (KVGBOF), affiliated with AIRRBOF and AIBOC, has officially announced a multi-phase agitation program to address unresolved issues affecting its members.
In a detailed letter dated January 6, 2025, addressed to the bank’s Chairman, the union outlined grievances ranging from non-payment of dues to biased transfer policies and ineffective management practices.

Core Demands of KVGBOF
The union highlighted several pressing issues requiring immediate resolution:
- Non-Cooperation and Bias:
- Lack of responsiveness to grievances raised by unions.
- Favoritism towards certain unions, sidelining KVGBOF’s concerns.
- 14% Employer Contribution:
- Immediate implementation of the 14% employer contribution under the NPS framework, ensuring parity with other banks.
- Pending Officiating Pay:
- Release of officiating pay due since June 2024, despite multiple communications on the matter.
- Implementation of the 9th Joint Note:
- Full adherence to DFS guidelines, including addressing pending benefits for women employees.
- HR Management Issues:
- Transfer of the Chief Manager of the Personnel and Human Resource Development Division (PHRDD) for inefficiency and bias.
- HRMS Mandate Transparency:
- Immediate resolution of subscription delays.
- Restoration of union affiliation details on salary slips and regular membership updates.
- Transfer Policy Reform:
- Transparent, bias-free transfers and adherence to established policies.
Agitation Schedule
The agitation program will proceed as follows:
- January 18, 2025: Members wear black badges as a symbolic protest.
- January 20, 2025: Exit from WhatsApp groups maintained by the bank.
- January 21, 2025: Strict work-to-time rule adherence.
- January 22, 2025: Boycott of cross-selling third-party products and focus solely on core banking activities.
- January 23-24, 2025: Two-day dharna in front of the Head Office.
KVGBOF tentatively conveys a warning that if these demands remain unmet after the agitation program, it would further escalate the matter with a full-fledged strike as a last resort.
Broader Implications
The union’s demands underscore systemic issues within Karnataka Vikas Grameena Bank, particularly around transparency, employees welfare, and operational efficiency. KVGBOF has called upon the management to act decisively to maintain industrial harmony and protect the bank’s reputation and productivity.
