'Merger of RRBs won't Help Rural People since PSBs' Priorities have Shifted, NRBI is the Solution'

There has been a demand to merge Regional Rural Banks (RRBs) with their sponsoring Public Sector Banks (PSBs). However, there are counterarguments, particularly from RRB employees, who advocate for the formation of a National Regional Rural Bank of India (NRBI). In this context, Kanal interviewed CP Krishnan, an expert and analyst in the finance and banking sector. He argues that merging RRBs with PSBs will not fulfill the RRBs' purpose of serving rural people due to policy issues and the changed priorities of PSBs over the last two decades. Please watch the interview for a detailed discussion of his arguments.
