In a first-of-its-kind initiative, National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) has opened a public poll inviting citizens, customers, and employees to participate in finalising a common logo for Regional Rural Banks (RRBs) across India. This step marks a significant milestone in the government's ongoing efforts to unify the identity and operations of rural banks under the “One State One RRB” policy.

The Government of India implemented the policy in April 2025, amalgamating 26 RRBs into 11 consolidated entities across 10 states and 1 union territory. In line with this reform, the Department of Financial Services (DFS) has emphasized the need for a shared visual identity.

“A strong brand identity fosters trust and accessibility. Therefore, a common logo for RRBs is being finalised by @NABARDOnline, and your opinion matters!” the DFS tweeted, urging participation through a dedicated voting portal.

Cast your vote or submit a logo by 5:00 PM on 20.06.2025.

Public Input for ‘One Vision, One Brand’

The logo initiative is part of a larger branding strategy aimed at creating a consistent and recognisable image for RRBs nationwide. This effort follows the structural amalgamation of banks and reflects the government's intent to streamline service delivery, improve governance, and build public trust through unified representation.

Designs Infused with Rural Symbolism

NABARD has released six logo options, each incorporating traditional motifs such as a glowing diya symbolising hope, prosperity, and empowerment, along with elements like the Charkha, Banyan Tree, and Ashoka Chakra. The aim is to visually represent the values of rural India and the inclusive mission of RRBs.

Participants are encouraged to choose among these or submit their own designs, provided they reflect the ethos of rural development and financial inclusion.

Your Vote, Your Logo

Stakeholders can vote for their preferred design or upload original submissions in .jpg or .png formats (maximum 1 MB). The platform has been made accessible to the general public, ensuring that the final identity of RRBs reflects collective ownership and grassroots representation.

Inclusive Branding for Rural India

This initiative by NABARD marks a significant cultural and institutional step in establishing a renewed brand identity for Regional Rural Banks. It not only strengthens the public image of RRBs but also promotes transparency, emotional resonance, and participatory governance in India’s rural banking landscape.
