Punjab Gramin Bank employees have voiced concerns over strict target-linked directives in the Bathinda region. An internal message instructed branches to achieve 50 enrollments each in PMSBY and PMJJBY, along with 5 in APY, in a single day. Staff say that linking day-end operations to such targets has created stress, disrupted normal branch functioning, and raised questions about employee welfare.

Daily Targets and Day-End Restrictions
According to the circulated message, branch managers were directed to ensure at least 50 enrollments each in Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY) and Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY), along with 5 enrollments in Atal Pension Yojana (APY) in a single day. If branches failed to meet these numbers, day-end activities were reportedly withheld, creating additional stress for staff.
