In a startling revelation, the Joint Forum of Aryavart Bank Union/Association has raised concerns about extended working hours for employees. The Banda unit of the Joint Forum of Aryavart Bank Union (JFABU) has written a letter to the Regional Manager of the Banda region, highlighting the adverse working conditions resulting from a recent decision by the regional office.

The letter, dated June 21, 2024, mentions that a message was sent to the Banda region's WhatsApp group by the Regional Manager at 11:45 PM. The message directed all branches to operate from 7 AM to 11 AM, focusing on field work with a minimum recovery target of three per day.

The Pressure to Produce Work Proof

The Joint Forum of Aryavart Bank Union (JFABU) has criticised the practice of sending late-night WhatsApp messages as an unacceptable act of pressure on employees. The letter describes this as a recurring issue, with employees being pressured each morning to provide proof of their field visits by posting photos in the WhatsApp group.

The state unit of the Joint Forum of Aryavart Bank Unions has taken notice and written to the bank management, expressing concern over this issue.

The letter, dated June 24, 2024, highlights the unyielding and high-handed decision-making of the regional manager, which is viewed as a violation of the standard work procedures set by the Indian Bank Association (IBA). The letter further states that employees in the Banda unit are working under immense pressure, creating an adverse atmosphere for staff.

Controversies Surrounding Regional Managers
