9th MSBEF Women’s Convention Concludes with Strong Resolutions, New Women Council Announced
The 9th Maharashtra State Bank Employees Federation (MSBEF) Women’s Convention saw 250 participants, strong discussions on women’s issues in banking, and the announcement of the new Women Council 2025.

The 9th MSBEF Women’s Convention concluded on November 22, 2025, bringing together nearly 250 women employees from across Maharashtra. Representatives from public sector banks, private banks, foreign banks and regional rural banks participated, making this year’s gathering one of the most diverse editions so far.

Delegates attended from Mumbai, Pune, Nashik, Solapur, Kolhapur, Aurangabad, Nanded, Latur and several other districts, reflecting the wide geographical participation within the Federation.

The key highlight of the convention was the formal announcement of the Maharashtra State Bank Employees Federation (MSBEF) Women Council 2025, comprising representatives from various banks and regions.

Inaugural Sessions Focused on Mindset, Mental Health & Constitutional Rights
The convention opened with a session by Dr. Sukhada Abhiram, Consulting Psychiatrist, who spoke about how mindset patterns influence stress, work-life balance and confidence.
This was followed by an address by Raahi S. G., journalist and researcher, on the role of the Constitution in women’s lives, with references to workplace dignity, equality and participation in decision-making.

Women Delegates Raise Key Issues Across Banking Sector
According to the dignitaries, the floor interventions covered a range of workplace concerns faced by women employees across Maharashtra. Participants raised issues such as:
-Extreme staff shortages leading to burnout and unsafe working hours.
-Non-availability of ladies’ washrooms in certain branches, still a shocking reality in 2025.
-Concerns about ongoing privatisation of public sector banks.
-Implications of new Labour Codes and lack of clarity in implementation.
-Need for gender-sensitive infrastructure, safe workplaces, and structured career progression for women officers.
These discussions reflected the ground-level challenges experienced by women in different banking segments.
Convention Reflected Unity, Strength, and Forward Resolve
According to attendees, the 9th MSBEF Women’s Convention concluded with a packed hall and active participation from members across the state. The newly elected Women Council will carry forward the programme for 2025, focusing on campaigns, policy-related engagements and strengthening women’s representation in the banking sector.
