The call for the meeting comes at a time when UFBU, a platform of major bank unions, has been raising various demands related to employees’ issues. The DFS, responsible for overseeing the functioning of public sector banks, has convened this discussion to engage directly with union representatives.

The announcement was made public by CH Venkatachalam through an official union communication. However, specific agenda points or issues expected to be taken up during the meeting have not been disclosed.

Union members and bank staff are awaiting clarity on whether the meeting will address pending concerns raised in earlier communications submitted to the ministry.

According to the statement, the unions will share the outcome of the discussions after the meeting on 27 November. Further updates are expected once the talks conclude and details are formally communicated.
