Amid heightened border tensions following the terrorist attack on tourists in Pahalgam, the All India Bank Employees’ Association (AIBEA) has pledged its full support to both affected civilians and Indian security forces.

In a letter addressed to Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on May 10, AIBEA expressed concern over the deteriorating situation in Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan, and Gujarat, where life has been disrupted due to fears of conflict and ongoing disturbances.

“We are proud to be at the service of the Nation”: AIBEA

In a strong message of commitment, AIBEA stated: “We are proud to be at the service of the Nation.” The association emphasized that bank employees in all border regions have been instructed to maintain uninterrupted services to residents, regardless of timing or logistical challenges.

“We have informed our members working in all the Bank Branches in these border areas to extend all possible help to the residents and people by ensuring uninterrupted banking services,” the letter added.

The association’s outreach is not limited to civilians. In a show of solidarity with the armed forces, AIBEA said it is preparing to set up emergency blood donation camps to meet any unforeseen medical contingencies for soldiers on the frontlines.

“We are gearing up our machinery to set up blood donation camps at short notice in all those border areas,” the association stated, noting its readiness to respond to emergencies.

AIBEA concluded by expressing its alignment with the government's efforts to combat terrorism and defend national unity. “Bank employees all over the country are with the Government to weed out terrorism of any sort and to safeguard the territorial integrity of our motherland,” the letter said.

AIBEA’s stand comes at a critical juncture, offering timely solidarity as both border residents and armed forces grapple with the intensifying crisis.
