According to AIBOC’s letter mentioned below, the incident occurred on 2 June at Union Bank of India’s Barla branch in Muzaffarnagar district. During banking hours, a person allegedly affiliated with a local union stormed into the branch and engaged in abusive behaviour toward the branch manager. The letter states that the individual used threatening language, including death threats, over a professional disagreement, creating a tense and unsafe environment for the staff.

A similar case was recently reported in Tamil Nadu’s Thoothukudi district, where a Union Bank manager was allegedly assaulted. This highlights a worrying pattern of increasing hostility faced by bank officials across states.
