Baroda UP Bank (BUPB) has made history by surpassing ₹1 lakh crore in total business as of March 26, 2025, becoming the first Regional Rural Bank in India to reach this milestone. This achievement marks a significant leap from ₹66,543 crore in FY 2020-21.
A Record-Breaking Achievement
On reaching the milestone, Baroda UP Bank Chairman, Devinder Pal Grover attributed this remarkable growth to the dedication and hard work of the bank’s employees. “This achievement reflects the unwavering commitment of every staff member and the trust our customers place in us,” he said, while encouraging employees to maintain the momentum. He further outlined an ambitious target to add ₹2,500 crore in additional business by March 31, 2025, linking future growth to performance-linked incentives (PLI).
Remarkable Growth in Business
Baroda UP Bank over recent financial years has showcased a remarkable business growth displaying a consistent upward trajectory. The bank’s business increased from ₹66,543 crore in FY 2020-21 to ₹92,986 crore in FY 2023-24, reflecting a significant rise of over 39% within three years.

This growth momentum continues as projections for FY 2024-25 indicate the bank will cross the ₹1,00,000 crore milestone. The exponential increase underscores the bank’s expanding customer base, enhanced financial performance, and successful implementation of strategic initiatives, positioning it as a key player in the regional banking sector.
Serving 4 Crore Customers Across 31 Districts
Baroda UP Bank, India’s largest RRB, operates 1,983 branches across 31 districts in Uttar Pradesh, serving approximately 4 crore customers with a workforce of 7,000 employees. Its extensive network is vital in providing financial services to rural and semi-urban areas, strengthening the bank’s commitment to financial inclusion.
Embracing digital transformation, the bank has expanded its Internet and Mobile Banking services, improving accessibility for its diverse customer base.
