ICICI Bank disclosed that it received an Order in Appeal under Section 107 of the West Bengal GST Act, 2017. The order raised a demand of ₹49.11 crore, including tax, interest, and penalty, related to GST on services provided to customers maintaining minimum balances. The bank stated that similar issues had previously resulted in show cause notices from tax authorities. ICICI Bank noted its intention to take appropriate steps, including contesting the order through further appeal.

AIBEUF’s Letter Seeking Intervention
The All India Bank Employees’ Unity Forum sent a representation to the West Bengal Chief Minister requesting intervention in issues it describes as mass illegal termination, alleged harassment, and GST-related concerns at ICICI Bank.
