The Bank Employees Federation of India (BEFI) observed an All India Demand Day on 21 November 2024, highlighting pressing issues in the banking industry. The protest called for urgent attention to stagnation in recruitment, outsourcing, engagement of apprentices, and customer-related concerns.

Nationwide Protest Action

BEFI members across India participated by displaying posters and wearing badges at their workplaces. The nationwide Demand Day was inaugurated by BEFI All India President S. S. Anil in front of the Union Bank Regional Office, Ernakulam.

The Demand Day is part of a series of nationwide protests. BEFI has announced additional Demand Days on 19 December 2024, to protest financial mismanagement in the banking sector, and on 21 January 2025, to address cooperative banking sector issues.
