Dinara Branch staff of Indian Bank under Gaya Zone have raised serious concerns over the misconduct of their Zonal Manager. According to a representation submitted by the United Forum of We Bankers to the Managing Director, instances of unprofessional and intimidating behavior were reported during a video conference held on August 18, 2025.
The representation alleges that the Zonal Manager repeatedly raised his voice, issued threats of suspension, and warned of transfers to remote locations in response to alleged shortfalls in business figures. Such communication, the forum stated, lacked the professional decorum expected within a banking environment.

Concerns were also raised regarding a customer complaint about passbook issuance, which was escalated directly to the Zonal Manager without branch-level verification. Despite the branch staff’s adherence to banking norms, the matter led to a meeting where officers were reprimanded publicly, without being given the opportunity to explain their side.

The letter further highlights issues such as the frequent use of threats, repeated issuance of explanation letters related to business and insurance targets, extended video calls beyond official working hours, and disregard for the personal hardships of staff. These practices, according to the forum, have caused significant mental anguish among employees.
Calling this management style demoralizing and hostile, the forum urged the bank’s top management to take immediate corrective measures to restore a respectful, professional, and supportive working environment. The representation emphasised the need to uphold employee dignity, fair workplace practices, and bank policies strictly.
