The Joint Forum of Aryavart Bank Officers' Unions and Associations (JFABOUA) has expressed dissatisfaction regarding recent directives issued by the Regional Office in Barabanki. The JFABOUA raised this concern to the to Barabanki Regional Manager through a letter dated September 7, 2024 in which it revealed that officers in the bank’s Barabanki region have been instructed to work on Sundays for recovery and loan-related tasks, a move that the forum claims is against previously agreed-upon terms.
The letter highlights that these directives conflict with a prior agreement signed on July 19, 2024, between the bank management and the Joint Forum. As per the forum, the agreement explicitly stated that employees would not be required to work on Sundays or other holidays, except for specific predetermined situations outlined within the working hours.

Despite these guidelines, forum representatives reported that the Regional Office had mandated that branch officers conduct recovery camps and report the names of officers required to attend on Sunday, September 8. The forum believes this is a clear violation of the agreement and is causing dissatisfaction among the employees.
The Joint Forum, emphasised the negative impact of this directive on employee morale, stating that continuous pressure to work on holidays disrupts the work-life balance and may lead to industrial unrest. The forum has demanded an immediate halt to such practices, urging the management to foster a more conducive working environment in Barabanki.
The letter further warned that if the current practices continue, the forum would have no choice but to take further action, holding the Regional Office responsible for any negative consequences.
Work Pressure in Aryavart Bank
Employees of Aryavart Bank have been consistently facing excessive work pressure, with regular directives to work beyond office hours and even on weekends. The JFABOUA has previously raised objections against these directives issued by regional managers. In a recent instance, the Banda Regional Manager’s midnight WhatsApp message, demanding a work update, shocked employees and met with strong resistance.
Aryavart Bank has found itself embroiled in several controversies related to work pressure, and the Joint Forum continues to voice the growing discontent among employees. The JFABOUA’s stance highlights a concerning trend of increasing work pressure across RRBs, raising alarm over the deteriorating work-life balance of the bank staff.
