The Madhya Pradesh Gramin Bank Officers Association, Bhopal unit, organized a seminar on December 8, 2024, to commemorate the Golden Jubilee of Regional Rural Banks(RRBs). This event marked an opportunity to reflect on the remarkable contributions and evolution of RRBs over the past 50 years.
Delivering the keynote address, Mr. Ajay Tiwari, General Secretary of the Madhya Pradesh Gramin Bank Officers Association, highlighted the journey of RRBs from their inception to their current standing. He emphasized the pivotal role played by rural bank employees in driving the growth and development of these institutions. Mr. Tiwari also acknowledged the significant contributions of the All India Regional Rural Bank Employees Association(AIRRBEA) in shaping policies and promoting the progress of RRBs across the country.

The seminar welcomed several distinguished guests, including Mrs. Neeta Hor, National Vice President of AIRRBEA, who shared her insights and lent her support to the occasion. Other notable attendees included Mr. Nagar, a retired officer of AIRRBEA, and Mr. Upendra Pavaiya, Regional President of the Madhya Pradesh Gramin Bank Officers Association, both of whom enriched the discussions with their valuable perspectives.
The event witnessed strong participation from officers in the Bhopal region, reflecting the enthusiasm and commitment of the banking community to celebrate this important milestone. The seminar proceedings were skillfully moderated by Ajay Rahul, ensuring productive and engaging discussions.

Golden Jubilee Amidst Amalgamation Process
This celebration comes at a pivotal time when the government’s “one state, one RRB” amalgamation process is gaining momentum. Under this policy, multiple RRBs within a state may be consolidated into a single entity. States like Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Assam and Jharkhand have already conducted similar golden jubilee events in this context, while several others are planning their programs
