PNB Extends ₹1.10 Crore Aid to Family Martyr Army Personnel Under Rakshak Plus Scheme
Punjab National Bank provided ₹1.10 crore financial aid to the family of martyr Havaldar Jhantu Ali Shaikh under its Rakshak Plus Scheme for defence personnel.

In a heartfelt gesture of gratitude and solidarity, Punjab National Bank (PNB) has reaffirmed its commitment to India’s bravehearts by disbursing ₹1.10 crore in financial assistance to the family of martyr Havaldar Jhantu Ali Shaikh of the elite 6 PARA (SF). This aid comes under PNB’s Rakshak Plus Scheme, a specialized salary account initiative for all serving defence and paramilitary personnel.
The cheque was handed over to Smt. Sahanaj Parvin, wife of the martyr, in a solemn ceremony by Shri Sanjiv Kumar, Zonal Manager, Durgapur; Shri Brajamohan Panda, Circle Head, Nadia; Colonel R. V. Patil (Retd.), Defence Banking Advisor; along with other senior officials of the bank. The event was held in the presence of local representatives and members of the armed forces fraternity, reflecting the bank’s continuing engagement with the families of national heroes.

Havaldar Jhantu Ali Shaikh laid down his life in the line of duty while serving with 6 PARA (Special Forces), one of the Indian Army's most prestigious and demanding combat units. His courage and sacrifice are etched in the nation’s memory, and PNB’s initiative is a symbolic yet significant act of national gratitude.

The Rakshak Plus Scheme not only provides salary account services but also includes insurance cover, overdraft facilities, and preferential services to uniformed personnel. This demonstrates PNB’s intent to support those who safeguard the country.
