UCO Bank’s Ayodhya Zonal Office has directed all branches, departments, and field functionaries under its jurisdiction to remain operational on March 30 (Sunday) and the national holiday of Eid-ul-Fitr on March 31 (Monday), 2025. The directive, issued on March 29, 2025, aims to clear pending work, ensure recoveries, and complete reconciliations before the financial year-end. This decision comes amid an ongoing demand for a five-day work week in the banking sector.

According to the circular, branches were lagging in recovery efforts and rectification of Kisan Credit Card (KCC) Substandard Grade Non-Performing Asset (SGNPA) and other compliance-related tasks. The advisory emphasized the importance of utilizing available manpower to ensure completion of pending work within the limited time frame.

Key Directives for Branches:

  • Recovery and SGNPA rectification to improve financial compliance.
  • Completion of annual closing formalities for B5-5 accounts, as per Credit Monitoring Department’s advisory.
  • Reconciliation of office accounts and pending credit rating completion.

The directive also called for strict compliance from all branches. It instructed department heads and Zonal Office officers to be available for follow-ups and field assistance to ensure smooth execution of the closing process.

Zonal Office to Oversee Compliance

The advisory placed particular emphasis on real-time monitoring by Zonal Office authorities. Departments were also asked to assign personnel for field visits where necessary, ensuring that all operational parameters were met before the financial year ended.

The document, signed by the Deputy Zonal Head, Ayodhya Zone, and sealed with the official stamp, reinforced the mandatory nature of these instructions. Now that March 31 has concluded, the bank is expected to review the implementation of these directives as part of its financial year-end assessment.
