A transfer dispute has been resolved after intervention by the We Bankers Rajasthan and the labour authorities. The temporary transfer order for a staff member, initially objected by the union as being against bank rules, was put on hold following a notice of agitation and escalation to the Labour Officer. After conciliation between the union and bank management, it was agreed that the staff member would continue in the same post, bringing the dispute to a close.

Labour Authorities Step In
The labour office received a complaint from the We Bankers Staff Association Rajasthan (Raj) regarding a transfer and the union’s notice for Dharna (peaceful protest). The issue was raised by General Secretary Prem Chaudhary of We Bankers Rajasthan. The labour office sent a letter to the bank asking it to submit its comments and to send authorised representatives for the conciliation meeting. The letter also stated that all actions during conciliation proceedings should comply with the Industrial Disputes Act.

Transfer Order Placed on Hold
Following union intervention and official communications, the bank decided to place the transfer order on hold. This ensured the employee would not be shifted until further instructions, giving both parties time to discuss the dispute in detail.

Resolution Through Dialogue
A subsequent meeting between the We Bankers Staff Association (Raj) and bank management confirmed that no change in service conditions had occurred and the employee would continue in the same post. With the issue resolved, both sides agreed no further action was necessary.

Union’s Stand
Speaking to Kanal, General Secretary Prem Chaudhary stated that the union strongly opposed the transfer directive which was against established norms. The matter was taken up before the labour authority, and through consistent efforts and conciliation, the management was compelled to withdraw the directive. He added that this outcome reflects the importance of collective representation and the union’s commitment to safeguarding employees’ rights.

The resolution of the transfer dispute, with the order being withdrawn after labour office intervention, highlights the value of dialogue in workplace issues. The role of We Bankers Rajasthan in raising the concern and representing staff interests also shows how collective representation can help ensure fair outcomes for employees and management alike.
