AIBOBOU Holds Nationwide Black Badge Protest Demanding Justice for Bank of Baroda Chief Manager’s Suicide

The All India Bank of Baroda Officers' Union (AIBOBOU) observed a nationwide black badge protest demanding a fair investigation into the suicide of Chief Manager ShivaShankar Mitra. According to K. Sriniwasrao, General Secretary, AIBOBOU, the protest took place across multiple zones including Hyderabad, Bareilly, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, and Bangalore. In several offices, non-union staff also joined, with one branch reporting that all 38 employees wore black badges irrespective of union affiliation.

The black badge protest marked the union’s growing frustration with the bank management’s lukewarm response to calls for a proper probe into the suicide of Chief Manager Shiva Shankar Mitra.
