AIPNBOF Strikes for Employee Welfare: Officers Unite Nationwide to Demand Long-Pending Promises

The All India Punjab National Bank Officers’ Federation observed a one-day strike on 10th October 2025. The protest focused on key demands including 100% reimbursement of perquisite tax and linking of medical aid with current basic pay.

The All India Punjab National Bank Officers’ Federation (AIPNBOF)  conducted a one-day nationwide strike, highlighting several long-pending Punjab National Bank (PNB) specific issues and raising key demands related to employee welfare and working conditions. These included 100% reimbursement of perquisite tax, linking of medical aid with the current basic pay, opposition to “digital arrest” of officers beyond working hours, withdrawal of threshold limit circulars, holding structured meetings between management and unions, and ensuring equal treatment for all associations.

Krishna Kumar, General Secretary of AIPNBOF, clarified that the strike was not against the management or government but a reminder to uphold promises made to officers. He said the move aims to draw attention to long-pending commitments that directly affect employee welfare and work-life balance.

Peaceful Demonstrations Across Regions:
AIPNBOF members and PNB officers across multiple zones participated by visiting branches and expressing unity through symbolic gestures. Teams from Patna, Hamirpur, Bhubaneswar, Bhopal, Amritsar, Aligarh, Murshidabad, Gaya, Bokaro, Bareilly, Rohtak, Ara, Alwar, Agra, Yamunanagar, Meerut, Banaras, Bank Chowk, Meerut,  Muzaffarpur, Haridwar (Circle Office), Head Office Dwarka, and several other regions held peaceful demonstrations.

The 10th October strike by AIPNBOF marked a day of peaceful expression and solidarity among PNB officers. With an emphasis on accountability, fairness, and restoration of dignity at the workplace, the federation’s protest aimed to draw attention to genuine employee concerns and long-pending commitments awaiting resolution. Today's strike was followed by a one-day protest that also echoed demands for Five-Day Banking, along with other key employee welfare measures.
