The All India Regional Rural Bank Employees Association (AIRRBEA) has announced a two-day nationwide strike on March 24-25, 2025, pressing for key demands related to RRBs.

AIRRBEA has instructed all its units across India to print leaflets and posters in regional languages to raise awareness among employees, customers, and the banking public to intensify campaigning efforts to ensure strong participation. In a letter dated February 26 addressed to its members, AIRRBEA stated: "We have already printed some posters in English for distribution to all units in a limited number and request all units to print the poster with similar languages in regional language for adequate supply to all branches of respective banks for the campaign amongst our customers and well-wishers.”

The strike call is aimed at addressing six major demands, along with supporting the six-point demands of the United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU).

Demands of AIRRBEA

AIRRBEA has put forward the following key demands to ensure fairness and efficiency in RRBs:

  • Formation of NRBI with state-level RRBs, de-linked from sponsor banks.
  • Revision of promotion and service rules, ensuring career progression.
  • Regularisation of part-time, casual, and daily wage workers.
  • Full parity in wage structure, pensioncomputer increment, leave rules, etc.

The association is mobilizing extensive support to ensure the strike's success, marking a critical moment in the ongoing struggle for RRB employees' rights and policy reforms.
