The proud celebration of the 89th Birth Anniversary of Dilip Kumar Mukherjee was celebrated on September 7th, 2025 in Assam Gramin Vikash Bank (AGVB). He was the legendary leader who founded the All India Regional Rural Bank Employees Association (AIRRBEA) that led to the trade union movement in RRBs. He was the founder of the trade union movement in RRBs and fought tirelessly to secure equal rights for rural bank employees across the country. Continuing the tradition, the “Dilip Kumar Mukherjee Memorial Lecture” was organised to honor his invaluable legacy.
This year, Rana Mitra, General Secretary of the All India NABARD Employees Association (AINBEA), delivered the keynote lecture on the theme “Role of Regional Rural Banks in Inclusive Economic Growth and Challenges Ahead.” His address provided deep insights into the critical role of RRBs in strengthening India’s rural economy and the hurdles that lie ahead in ensuring financial inclusion.
