Bihar Police Issued Alert to Uttar Bihar Gramin Bank Branch Amid Rising Crime

Police issue alert to Uttar Bihar Gramin Bank, tightening security and restricting working hours amid rising robberies in Vaishali district.

In a recent development, the Sahdei police station of Vaishali district, Bihar, has issued an official notice to the Branch Manager of Uttar Bihar Gramin Bank (UBGB), urging heightened vigilance due to the district's escalating crime rate. The letter explicitly highlights the growing number of criminal activities, including incidents of looting and other dangerous events. 

The official letter, dated October 3, 2024, notes the district’s rising crime, specifically mentioning frequent robberies. It advises that the bank should operate only between its opening time and 5:00 PM to ensure the safety of employees and the premises. The letter also directs that the bank’s ATM services should not operate beyond 8:00 PM.

The police have made it clear that any breach of security will be seen as a lapse on the part of the bank, placing full responsibility for any untoward incident on the institution.The notice further instructs that the bank may remain operational until 8:00 PM, with police providing active surveillance during this period. 

This heightened alert comes in the wake of increasing incidents of organised crime in Vaishali district and robbery attempts in banks and attack on bankers, underscoring the need for strong collaboration between local law enforcement and financial institutions.
