Internal messages from State Bank of India’s (SBI)  Jhansi R1 highlight issues of continuous Sunday duties, holiday field visits, and pressure from senior officials. Staff say they have not received any weekly off for three consecutive weeks.

According to the messages, employees say “It has become a norm in Jhansi R1 for AGM and DGM to call them on Sundays. This is the third week where they are being made to work on a Sunday, with no leaves at all for three weeks.”

Staff allege that both AGM and DGM are due for promotion and are exploiting employees for it. The CM is extremely abusive and is highly supported by AGM and DGM. Employees say most Field Officers—about 80%—are recently confirmed and not fully trained, yet they are being pushed to work continuously.

Screenshots from the official group show a message instructing all Branch Managers and Field Officers to be on the field on a holiday and give reports in the evening.

Staff claim they have been working straight for three weeks with zero leaves, and describe the situation in the region as “pathetic.”
