In a controversial internal message that has sparked alarm across the rural banking sector, the Regional Manager (RM) of Bhadohi region in Uttar Pradesh Gramin Bank (UPGB) has issued a stern ultimatum to branch staff—achieve a minimum of 75% rollover targets by June 26, 2025, or face the immediate termination of daily-wage employees from July 1. The directive, now widely circulated on staff platforms, has drawn criticism from unions and employees alike, calling it coercive and inhuman.
The message, allegedly sent under the RM’s authority, explicitly states: “यदि 75% रोलओवर पूरा नहीं हुआ, तो 1 जुलाई से अपने दैनिक वेतनभोगी को तत्काल हटा दें।” (“If 75% rollover is not achieved, remove your daily-wage staff with immediate effect from July 1.”)

“The message is loud and clear—there will be no daily wagers in the branch, and we’ll have to handle cleaning, serving water, and other such tasks ourselves,” said a UPGB employee to Kanal on condition of anonymity.
Reacting to the issue, a former RRB employee Nitin Tyagi slammed the ultimatum on platform X and wrote, ”Has UPGB now become ‘Uttar Pradesh Gulami Bank’? Work or get thrown out — is this a bank or a dictatorship?”

Regional Managers in RRBs such as Odisha Gramin Bank and Uttar Pradesh Gramin Bank have recently come under scrutiny for abusive conduct, authoritarian communication, and intense pressure tactics to meet targets.
Insurance Targets Take Priority Over Employee Rights
In a separate message, branch heads were instructed not to mark End of Day (EOD) operations unless at least one India First insurance policy was sold.

The Bhadohi RM’s ultimatum has amplified growing concerns about the work culture in RRBs, where employees say performance targets are being weaponised at the cost of dignity and fair treatment. Unions are now urging NABARD and the Ministry of Finance to step in and curb the misuse of authority before staff morale erodes further.
